Packing: What to Bring
What to bring? Plan ahead so you can maximize the time at the lake and arrive with what you need.
- Amiscape Woods is located 9 kilometres from the Village of Caslan, where a convenience store provides food staples, wine/beer, and gas.
- There are also two larger grocery stores in Boyle, about 29 kilometres on the other side of the lake.
- Once you get to Amiscape Woods, you won't want to drive back and forth for supplies, so plan ahead!
- The kitchen is fully equipped with all the utensils, dishes, pots and pans you'll need.
- Potable water is hauled in from Boyle in a cistern.
- Drinking water is available from a dedicated filter tap.
- Please bring your own bedding, pillow cases, blankets or sleeping bags, kitchen linens/dish towels for your party, and personal (wash and beach) towels.
- Pillows are supplied with your rental, or bring your own if you have a favourite.
- Washer/dryer now on site for small loads.
- Shower now on site (though water conservation is in place; turn off the shower while soaping up).
- Sauna is still our recommended bathing spot in winter.
- Lake bathing when the weather is warm.
- Do remember to bring your own sunscreen, insect repellent and personal toiletries such as soap, shampoo, and toothpaste.
- Any Hillside Cabin guests use the nearby outhouse; paper is provided.
- Bring clothing appropriate for the season. Evenings by the campfire get cool after
- sunset, so bring a warm coat and pants.
- Pack for whatever outdoor activities you plan to enjoy. A canoe and boat are available for your use (including paddles and mandatory PFD's for adults.
- If you have children, please provide your own PFD’s
- You are expected to pack out your own garbage/empties, as we do not have local pick-up.
