Basic Rules

OUTSIDE:

Amiscape Woods is intended for nature lovers.  Our property is now part of the Legacy Land Trust Society. In keeping with our Conservation Easement with the Society, we do not allow snowmobiles, trail bikes or quads, guns, hunting, or other nature or wildlife disturbances such as fireworks. Please be considerate of the natural environment and its many small inhabitants.  No loud parties, and quiet after 10 pm.

INSIDE:

Moccasins, socks or clean soft-soled indoor shoes only can be worn indoors.  Please remove all outdoor footwear before entering, and place it in the closet, on the floor mats, or leave it outside.  The pine and cork floors are soft and easily marked.  (Sandals that you can easily slip on or off are always nice.)
  • The lodge is a smoke-free environment.  Absolutely no smoking indoors at any time.
  • No pets of any kind are allowed at any time, inside the lodge, or outside on the deck.  Many folks have allergies to animals.
  • Please keep the place clean throughout your stay. Refer to the Cleaning Checklist as needed. Note: Do not pour grease down sinks (use a container and dispose of it in the garbage). Do use the food traps in the sinks, and tap out contents in the garbage (water drains may clog).
  • Wood heater - please follow instructions for starting a perfect fire. Note: Drag the wood box to the patio door to fill. Please do not throw wood into the wood box (could dent the walls and break the window).
  • During your stay, do use Homesteader shed garbage bins to collect all waste, and do not leave food outside to attract mice, bears or other creatures!
  • If you use the barbecue, please roll it on the deck a safe distance from the lodge. Also, please remember to clean the barbecue and picnic table after use, both for the next guests, and to ensure not to attract mice, bears, and other critters.
  • If you use the sauna, please follow the ‘Sauna Etiquette’ rules posted.
  • If you use the canoe or boat, you must, by law, ensure that every person is wearing a life preserver and abide by all other fishing and boating regulations.
